Under Body Tool Box Mounting Brackets
If you're buying good tool boxes, you will need good mounting brackets

We don't recommend mounting to the top of underbody tool boxes but sometimes you may not have a choice. Smaller tool boxes do ok with top mount but make sure you have a backing plate inside and if you can also weld or bolt the backing plate to the side of the tool box this will help. Most of the strength is in the sides and don't forget to silicone the holes to keep them from leaking.

We do recommend mounting in a cradle situation when ever possible. This takes a lot of the stress off the tool box. Like holding a baby. You don't hold a baby by it arms, you hold it in a cradle position which keeps it safe from falling. Our brackets are made of stout, 1/4" Marine Grade aluminum and come in two designs for mounting the boxes to the frame, or to cross members. If you don't buy these mounting brackets from us, make sure the mounting system you get is beefy. Cheap mounting systems cause more problems with our tool boxes than people do.

Our (plate bracket) side mounting system works well with our tool boxes because we have engineered them to our boxes and our boxes to them. They come with backing plates and are designed to eliminate "side-shifting". The motion you get when taking off or hitting the brakes. This motion is very hard on underbody truck tool boxes.
